A Magical Carpet Ride Awaits: Aladdin Pantomime at Redditch Palace Theatre

The festive season is nearly upon us, and there’s no better way to celebrate than with a proper British pantomime. This year, the Redditch Palace Theatre is bringing the enchanting tale of Aladdin to the stage, promising a cracking show filled with magic, laughter, and all the panto traditions we know and love.

A Timeless Tale with a Panto Twist

Running from 11th December 2025 through to 4th January 2026, this production of Aladdin whisks audiences across the deserts to a mysterious cave of wonders. At the heart of the story is a daydreaming young lad named Aladdin, the son of a poor washerwoman, who dares to dream of falling in love with a beautiful princess and making his fortune. But with the evil magician Abanazar plotting to rule the world, will Aladdin save the day? And more importantly, will Widow Twankey ever get the washing done?

The production promises everything that makes pantomime such a beloved British tradition: stunning sets, brilliant musical numbers, fabulous costumes, and special effects that will leave audiences of all ages absolutely spellbound.

Star-Studded Cast

The Palace Theatre has assembled a brilliant lineup of talent for this year’s production. Leading the cast as the dastardly villain Abanazar is Bill Ward, well known for his roles in both Coronation Street and Emmerdale. Opposite him, children’s telly legend Dave Benson Phillips takes on the role of the Emperor, whilst Britain’s Got Talent star and comedy impressionist Tony Rudd brings his talents to the character of Wishee Washee.

Making his Palace Theatre debut is experienced pantomime dame Simon Bashford as Widow Twankey, joined by Indiya Payne as the Spirit of the Ring, Laura-Dene Perryman as the Princess, and Niall Gray in the title role of Aladdin.

Perfect Family Entertainment

With performances including matinees and evening shows throughout the festive period—including performances on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Eve—there are plenty of opportunities to catch this magical production. The show is suitable for all ages, making it the perfect outing for the whole family.

Special accessibility provisions have been made, including signed performances on 20th December and 2nd January, as well as a relaxed performance on 2nd January. The theatre has ensured that families have various ticketing options, with prices starting from £19 and family tickets available for selected performances.
