Redditch BID Joins the Great Big Green Week with Town Centre Litter Pick Series

This June, Redditch BID is proud to be taking part in the Great Big Green Week, the UK’s biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.

Running from 7 to 15 June, the campaign encourages people across the country to do something positive for the environment. Here in Redditch, we are rolling up our sleeves, grabbing the litter pickers, and inviting our local businesses and wider community to join us for a new round of town centre litter picks.

Building on Spring Clean Success

Earlier this year, during the Great British Spring Clean, we collected an incredible 78 bags of rubbish from the town centre and BID area. Led by our Business Engagement Officer Nick Jackson, and supported by brilliant local businesses and volunteers, the campaign proved how much pride Redditch has in its appearance.

Nick said:
“The energy and support we had during the Spring Clean was amazing. So many businesses stepped forward and played their part. We want to carry that same momentum into Great Big Green Week and make it even bigger.”

Businesses – We Want You Involved

We are now encouraging all businesses within the BID district to get involved. Whether you supported us during the last clean-up or are thinking of joining us for the first time, we would love to hear from you. We will be hosting several litter picks throughout the week, focused on different areas across the town centre.

How to Take Part

• Businesses inside the BID area – This is your chance to show your support for Redditch and help make a visible difference. You can bring your team or pop out solo. Whether you join for 15 minutes or the whole session, it all helps.
• Community members and supporters outside the BID – If you are passionate about protecting nature and want to support the effort, please get in touch. Everyone is welcome.

We will supply everything you need including litter pickers, bags, gloves, and high-vis vests. All you need to bring is yourself and a positive spirit.

Let’s work together and show what Redditch is capable of. Whether you are sweeping the High Street or clearing up corners that are often missed, your support helps build a cleaner, greener town.
