Redditch Lights Up for Christmas 2025

Redditch Town Centre lit up on Saturday evening as we came together for this year’s Christmas Lights Switch-On. Market place had a proper festive feel to it all night, with families wrapped up warm, children excited for the countdown and a really lovely atmosphere running through the whole event.

We started the evening with a great opening set from Mitch Loveridge, which set a nice tone as people arrived. From there, the entertainment kept the Christmas spirit going. Choir by The Big Sing filled Market place with festive harmonies, and the dancers from the Shaun Paul Smith Dance Academy brought brilliant energy to the stage. Indigo Arts & The Violets kept the buzz going with their lively performance, and Top Box followed up with a set full of feel-good songs from Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. The cast of the Palace Theatre Pantomime also joined us for a fun appearance, before our Taylor Swift Tribute lifted the energy even further heading into the main moment.

Earlier in the afternoon, we had a special meet & greet with Gareth Gates inside the Kingfisher, which went down really well. We also had festive entertainers moving around the centre throughout the day, helping to spread that Christmas feel right across the town before the main event began in Marketplace.

At 5.45pm, we gathered for the big moment. This year’s Christmas lights were switched on by Gareth GatesFather Christmas and the Mayor of Redditch, who led the crowd through the countdown together. As soon as the lights came on, the whole of Redditch Town Centre instantly felt brighter and properly ready for Christmas.

To finish the evening, Gareth Gates returned to the stage for his live headline performance. The crowd loved it, and it was a brilliant way to wrap up a really strong night for the town.

Events like this show exactly what Redditch is about community, families, local talent and giving people something to come out and enjoy together. We’re proud to bring these moments into Redditch Town Centre and even prouder to see how well the town embraces them.
