Redditch BID Launches Major Skills Initiative to Support Member Businesses
Redditch Business Improvement District (BID) has launched a major new skills and development initiative to support its members. By investing in the people who work within their businesses, we want to help strengthen the town centre economy and ensure local businesses are equipped to thrive.
The learning hub has been launched in partnership with SEEDL, a pioneering Virtual Live Learning Service that will provide BID member business employees with free access to a wide range of professional training, helping build confidence, capability, and long-term business resilience. It reflects Redditch BID’s ongoing commitment to delivering practical support that helps its members adapt, grow, and perform in an increasingly competitive business environment.
Investing in People to Strengthen Member Businesses
We recognise that a strong town centre is built on skilled, confident workforces. By focusing on training and development, we want to help our members improve service standards, retain staff, and support career progression within the local economy.
Courses are designed to meet the needs of member businesses across key areas, including:
• Leadership and people management
• Customer service and communication
• Digital and workplace skills
• Organisation, productivity, and project delivery
• Health, well-being, and confidence at work
• Professional standards and compliance
This approach ensures that the BID supports businesses not just operationally, but also at a human level, empowering employees while strengthening businesses from the inside out.
Flexible Learning Designed Around Business Life
The initiative has been developed with the realities of modern business in mind. Training can be accessed live or on demand, allowing employees to learn outside trading hours, regardless of shift patterns or day-to-day pressures.
This makes the programme suitable for businesses of all sizes and sectors, from retail and hospitality to service and office-based operations.
A Tangible Benefit of BID Membership
Access to this skills programme is included as part of Redditch BID membership, removing cost barriers and making professional development more accessible for local employers and their teams.
With over 200 courses available and content regularly updated to reflect current workplace challenges and opportunities, BID members gain a practical, ongoing benefit from their membership.
Part of Redditch BID’s Broader Support for Members
The skills initiative is one part of Redditch BID’s wider programme of support, which includes town centre improvements, safety initiatives, marketing assistance, events, and direct engagement with businesses.
Together, these initiatives are designed to make Redditch town centre more attractive, vibrant, and commercially strong, while ensuring that BID members receive tangible, practical benefits for being part of the organisation.
Who Can Access the Training
All businesses operating within the Redditch BID area are eligible. Member businesses can contact the Redditch BID team for more information.
